Maybe we should be focusing on love rather than service and selflessness. These are the natural by-products of love, not the thing to focus on. When we love, we naturally give of ourselves.
I love my daughter and I made her a shirt. And I loved the labor of it. I loved the learning of it. It is a gift freely given, not forced out of duty. And there was enough time.
Love yourself. Take care of yourself. And that allows you to give of yourself.
I came here this morning to write about what is true for me and I ended up with love.
Love gives life to the lifeless. Love lights a flame in the heart that is cold. Love brings hope to the hopeless and gladdens the hearts of the sorrowful. In the world of existence there is indeed no greater power than the power of love. ~ ‘Abdu’l-Baha
So love yourself enough to take breaks, go for a hike, kiss the sky, marvel at the clouds and the trees and the flowers and the earth. Fill your heart with love and let it overflow to all who cross your path.
